March Madness & a broken camera

The Ford Center in Oklahoma City was one of the sites for the 1st and 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. We ordered tickets a couple of weeks before they announced what teams would be playing there because we were relatively sure that the Jayhawks would be assigned there since they had been ranked #1 all but 4 weeks of the entire season. We ordered 2 tickets because they were pretty pricey. Mark isn't much of a basketball fan, but Marissa, Rob and I LOVE it!! I told Rob & Marissa that we were getting tickets & Rob could go with me on Thursday and Marissa could go on Saturday. Marissa was psyched!! Rob was mad because he wanted to go both days, not just one. We were absolutely thrilled when we found out that BYU and Kansas State would be competing at the Ford Center as well as KU. Rob & I drove down on Thursday morning to go to the games and then Mark and the other kids drove down after Mark got off of work. Thursday was a beautiful sunny day and we didn't even need to wear coats.
The BYU/Florida game was first and it was a GREAT game and it made it even better that BYU won.
Here is a picture of the media interviewing BYU's star player Jimmer Fredette and the coach after the game. My camera was on the fritz and was only taking pictures in black and white. Shortly after that it died and I wasn't even able to get any pictures of the Jayhawks. Bummer!! The K State Texas game was lopsided and I thought it was a bit boring. The UNLV/Northern Iowa game was great. The Kansas game was close in the first half and we would have loved that game no matter what because we love KU.
Marissa and I went to the games on Saturday. As we walked in, we were covered in snow. It was a blizzard! Unfortunately, we got to see Sherron Collins and probably Cole Aldrich play their last college game since they lost. It was soooo disappointing to see them lose. It was just so much worse since they were such a huge favorite and been so good all year. We then saw BYU lose in the 2nd game. Both games were pretty good but we wished we could have seen our favorite teams win. We were all glad we got to see some tournament games, though. It was alot of fun
