Rob's Photography

Rob is taking a photojournalism class at school and so he had to take a bunch of pictures.  I picked out a few of my favorites that he took.  I know each picture was portraying a specific concept, but I don't know what those concepts are.  Ha, ha!!
 Baseballs.  I love this picture!

I really like this picture of Maddie!

Love this close up of the dog treat with Kate looking on in the background!

Love this picture of Reagan pretending to hold Maddie!
The last 2 years our ward campout has been held at Santa Fe Lake which is only about 10 minutes from our house.  It seems like we get a really good turnout when we have it somewhere that is so close.  Quite a few people come for the evening and then go home, but lots of people also stay the night.  We are always in the group that stays.  This year we even lent out tents and camping equipment to 2 other families.  I think we had about 3 more tents at home that weren't being used.  We are definitely not lacking in the tent department at our house!!
A picture showing alot of the parked cars from our ward and some of the tents!

Rob helping Brad set up the tent for him and his girls.  Brad said he go "shamed into spending the night".  He was telling Mark he couldn't stay because he didn't have a tent, but Mark took care of that problem!

Mark and Bret eating some deer chili.  Mark had me make a huge pot of chili with deer meet so we could share it.

Courtney shows off the baby frog she caught to her sisters and some other girls!

 The baby frog!

Reagan climbing on the playground equipment!

Morgan Cheering

Some random pictures of Morgan cheering at two different games.  Due to her size, she is always a flyer - one of the ones being lifted and thrown in the air!
Rob finally had his Eagle Board of Review on September 17th.  Rob had been a life scout for at least 2 1/2 years.  He had more than twice the number of required merit badges.  However, he still had to do the final 2 required merit badges and his Eagle Project.  He officially finished all of the requirements a week before his 18th birthday.
This is a typical Rob pose for a picture - serious, no smile.  The picture doesn't do how he really looked justice.  He looked hilarious!!  His pants were skin tight and they were serious highwaters.  I loved the added touch of his Scout baseball cap.  He told me that he wasn't sure if he had ever been in full uniform before!
His eyes are not closed on accident here.  He was trying to be a total dope!

I love this picture of him where I caught his real personality.  He was able to laugh after his dopey pose!!

Opening Presents

On Sunday we went to sacrament meeting and then we went back to Whitworth's to watch Nick and Sydnie open presents.  Nick's Dad had made arrangements for Nick and Sydnie to meet the rest of us there.  It was nice for Nick's Dad, friends, and grandma, as well as our family to be there while they were opening presents.
I love this picture of all of my girls looking on while Luke is playing with the baby!

The baby decides to have a snack from Rob's plate and Rob was a very good sport about it!

Myrna, Sydnie, Nick, Savannah and Noah while they are opening presents.

Nick's friend was a great help in helping Grandma fold up the wrapping paper they wanted to save!

I enjoyed spending the week in Texas helping Myrna get ready for the wedding and it was great for the rest of the family to come down for the weekend.  I really did miss Marissa this weekend.  It just wasn't the same with her being gone.  I was worried that it might be hard for her to be away, too.  However, I heard from her later that she was thinking about us a lot that weekend, but she was grateful she was on her mission because she knows that is where she is supposed to be.  That was so great to hear!

Sydnie's Reception

The reception was held at the church in Wylie which was brand new.  They had only been meeting in the church a few weeks.
Sydnie and Nick getting ready to cut the cake

 Cutting the cake

Nick giving Sydnie some cake while she stuffs cake in his mouth!

Sydnie and Nick's first dance as a married couple

 Decorated car

And of course the car decorating also turned into a shaving cream fight!  Ha, ha!!

Sydnie's Wedding

Sydnie got married in the Dallas temple on Sept. 7th.  I flew down on Tuesday to help Myrna get ready for the wedding.  The rest of the family drove down after school and work on Friday.
A picture of the immediate families in front of the temple - Luke, Noah, Jeff (Nick's Dad), Nick, Sydnie, Myrna, Lance and Savannah.

The sisters - Sydnie and Savannah.

I'm not sure what Mark is doing in this picture, but I thought it was a cool picture.  Ha, ha!!
