Our library offers some great summer art classes and the greatest part about them is they are $5 each for 3 to 4 classes - a definite bargain. The girls liked them for the most part. At the beginning, they sometimes seemed disappointed by the art they did at the class. I think the biggest problem was that we do so many elaborate craft projects at home that sometimes what they do in a cheap group class just can't quite compare.

They all took a pop-up class. This is a picture from Morgan's pop up book that she made at the class. The origami flowers are things she did at home after being challenged by the teacher to do some origami at home.

The teacher told Maddie to pretend this is a giant post-it note and draw a picture. She did a picture to make her brother happy!!

Reagan's tree of life. She did this in her Klimt class. They worked on the painting for a few days and then the last day the kids glued on things that told about them. Reagan told me that this was her favorite project from all of the art classes.

These are 2 pictures that Maddie made in her calligraphy class. The first picture has the letters of Maddie's name (Madelyn) and they describe our family. The M is for Marissa because she is always in her room. The a is for Morgan because she always curls her hair. The d is for Reagan because she sings a lot. The e is for Dad because he has a big mouth. The l is for Mom because she always takes care of her kids. The Y is for Rob because he always attacks Maddie when she's smiling. The n is for Maddie because whenever she smiles Rob gets mad and attacks her. Morgan was in the same class, but had misplaced her pictures.

This is the cover of Reagan's paper bag book that she made in another class.

Here are 2 pages from the inside of Reagan's paper bag book.

These are some zentangle pictures that Maddie did. Maddie & Morgan both loved these!!

This was Morgan & Maddie's favorite art project from all of the classes and they said that this project alone made everything worthwhile. They stamped on the back of Dominoes and then colored them in with special markers to make necklace pendants. They had the teacher write down the type of markers they used so that I could buy some and do it at home!
