Black Eye

While I was watching the championship basketball game Monday night, Rob's baseball coach called my cell phone to get our home phone number, saying he wanted to chat with Mark. Later, after the game, when I called Mark, I found out why. At the end of baseball practice, the boys were running in from the field. Rob was throwing a ball up in the air playing catch with himself. One of his team mates came running over and was trying to snag the ball from Rob. Rob didn't see him coming and they hit heads. Rob ended up with a cut and swollen eye and a major headache. His team mate lost consciousness and ended up in the hospital overnight for observation. One of the Dad's is a Dr. and he didn't think Rob's eye needed stitches and he recommended the other guy should go to the hospital and be checked out.Mark took this picture of Rob the morning after it happened and e-mailed it to me so I could see what he looked like. Later that day, the school nurse called and was concerned that his actual eyeball didn't look good. I ended up making arrangements for him to see the Dr. The Dr. ended up ordering a CT scan to make sure his eye socket wasn't broke. Everything turned out fine, but I wished I would have been her to handle it so Mark didn't have to. By the time, Rob arrived in Utah it was more discolored, but less swollen. By the time, I got back on Saturday, the only thing that looked abnormal was a small cut.
