We went to the zoo for the second grade field trip at Reagan's school. There were lots and lots of parent volunteers so we ended up having a group of 5 girls and 3 parents. It was awesome! The girls were all really sweet and I liked both of the Moms alot, too!
Normally, when I go to the zoo I start on the right hand side and work my way around to the back and to the other side. This time we started on the left. It was a very good call because I think it was a lot less crowded. We went and saw the chimps first. It is always fun to see the baby chimp and how he has grown. I remember seeing him when he was just a few months old. I think he is about 2 or 3 years old now. He has gotten bigger, but he still looks little.

We had actually been touring the zoo for awhile before the girls starting posing with statues. It wouldn't be a trip to the zoo without these statue pictures.

The girls were having lots of fun with the baby goats. The zoo picks a theme each year in naming the goats. This year they are named after candy. While the girls were walking around petting the baby goats, they were calling them by their names, but I don't remember their names.
The zoo worker at this part of the petting zoo was super nice. She let each of the girls in our group hold a baby goat. Reagan is holding Snickers, here. (Reagan could remember her name!)
Right before we left we stopped to see the flamingoes. The majority of them were sitting down, taking an afternoon nap! I had never seen them napping like this before!!
