Crafty Creativity
I just thought I'd show a few creative projects that have been completed recently at our house.
Marissa has become a truly talented seamstress. Last year in sewing I complained a bit about how expensive that class was for us. Marissa was so quick that it seemed like we were dropping about $50 a week on sewing supplies. This year, Marissa has only taken sewing 2nd semester and it has been much cheaper because her first project was this scrappy quilt which even took Marissa a long time to do. It looks awesome, though, now that she is done.
Here is a close-up view of the quilt.
Here is a ruffled bag that Marissa made. This one only took her a couple of class periods to do. She also recently made a really cute coin purse which has pieces from and old metal tape measure sewn into the top so it will snap together. I didn't have that one handy to take a picture, though. Marissa found the idea for all 3 of these projects on the internet.
Maddie needed to make a camel to go with her animal report for school. Mark constructed the camel out of cardboard boxes and PVC pipe and then Maddie painted it and decorated it on her own. She was really proud of her creation and excited to bring it to school.
And here is the side view of the camel.

great creativity!! I especially love Marissa's quilt - you'll have to ask her if she'd be interested in typing up a "how-to" and being featured on my craft blog....
ReplyDeleteI have read all of your blog posts, but I haven't commented on any blogs lately. I love catching up with your family and see what they are doing. I love the quilt, purse and camel. Maggie has been sewing lately and would think that would be a fun purse to make too...I would have to help her with that one though. Thanks for sharing your family on your blog.
ReplyDeleteMarissa, I bet you make your Grandma Housley proud! Love the quilt!
