PVC Pipe Fun

As I was looking at these pictures I was reminded of 2 things. The first being how much I miss having my good camera lens and the ability to blur the backgrounds. I just can't take the pictures I like to take with my cheap lens that I'm currently using. The 2nd thing was how grateful I am that I can still take these pictures indoors without a flash even though my lens is terrible. I do love my camera and I am so looking forward to getting my good lens back from the camera shop.

I believe this is my 3rd post this summer about marshmallow shooters. Yes, these have definitely been this summer's signature activity. They are so much fun!! We went to Lowe's and bought more pipe and then Mark cut it for us. Brenda's family made extras to take home to their family and Sydnie & Savannah made them for their brothers, too.
Amy, Amber, Sydnie, Savannah, Marissa & Anna working on their marshmallow shooters.

Amy tries 2 at a time.
Marissa being attacked by marshmallows.
And still another use for PVC pipe - A paddle which Reagan is using as a "banjo". If we would call it a guitar, she would correct us and tell us it was a banjo. We only made 2 of these because I wanted to see how good they worked before we got more. They work great to hit balls so soon I'll be making a trip back to Lowe's for more PVC pipe and connectors so everyone can have their own!!

We set off a bunch of fireworks tonight, too. However, I just didn't feel like fighting my bad lenses for that so I didn't take any pictures. The fireworks that we can set off at our house are amazing; we can even set off "mortars". As a kid I remember doing sparklers and then going to firework shows. My kids were able to do sparklers & giant sparklers while Mark was basically doing a fireworks display with the big ones and other big ones were going off all over the neighborhood. I just don't understand why people around here go out of town for the 4th of July because it is so great here -- unless, of course, you don't like fireworks--then you should DEFINITELY go out of town for the 4th. You almost can't imagine what fireworks are like here unless you experience it. Brenda can attest to that and she wasn't even here for the Sunday night fireworks which way outdid the Saturday night ones.
