This was Maddie's 2nd year to go to literacy camp. It has been such a great program to help her with her reading. The culminating event of literacy camp is a reader's theater which Maddie LOVES!! She did such a great job last year and she was disappointed she had a smaller part. This year they knew what she was capable of so she had a big part!! Her teacher asked her if she had her script at home. She told her that she did, which was true. However, she left out the fact that even though her script was at home, she had no idea where it was at home!! Last year Maddie practiced a lot so she could do a good job. This year she didn't practice her script at all at home and she was fine.
Maddie reads during the reader's theater.
We are so grateful for the opportunity she has had to do reading at Wichita State. It has really helped her and this spring she tested out above average for her age and grade. It has been a long hard road to get there, but she is an extremely hard worker and we are really proud of her!
