Cheer Time!

These pictures are pretty bad, but they are all I had. Reagan is taking a cheer class at the Y and her class did a little performance at the Breakfast with Santa. There are only 3 girls in her class right now. Reagan is in the middle and Nancy is on the right. Nancy and Reagan are in preschool, gymnastics and dance together. We carpool to preschool together and it works out great. We have a system worked out where I drive to and from preschool for one week and then Nancy's mom (Kathy) drives the next week. Whoever drives keeps the girls in the afternoon as well. It works out great and I'm finding that the more they are together the more they want to be together. There are about 20 kids in their preschool class and there is a set of quads and two sets of twins and Nancy and Reagan (who the teachers think seem like twins). One of the other Moms told me recently that she thought Nancy and Reagan were twins and she was wondering what kind of parents would name their twins "Nancy and Reagan". Kathy and I both thought that was pretty funny!!Morgan and Maddie are doing competitive cheer at the Y. There are other cheer places in town which are more competitive but I prefer the Y which is much more low key and the uniforms don't expose bare bellies! The girls practice two hours a week and it has been fun for them. I think one of their favorite things has been doing it with their friends Rachel and Sarah who just happen to be Nancy's two older sisters. This is their final stunt at their first cheerleading competition. Maddie is the one lifted in the air and Morgan is holding her foot. The girls on the other side didn't quite make their stunt.
I had never been to a cheer competition before and I was not too impressed! I am not a music loving person and the music was LOUD and obnoxious! You could barely hear yourself talk and then in between performances they played more music and had a D.J. like guy encouraging everyone to be loud and obnoxious. I definitely prefer the more calm and controlled environment at a gymnastics meet.
