Thanksgiving at Great Wolf Lodge

This year we did something entirely different for Thanksgiving. We drove to Kansas City early Wednesday morning and we went to Nebraska Furniture Mart and bought furniture for our living room and dining room. We then went to T-Rex for lunch (a fun dinosaur restaurant which is similar to Rainforest Cafe, but with dinosaurs). After that, we headed over to Great Wolf Lodge. We spent time at the water park on both Wednesday and Thursday. We ate Thanksgiving dinner at the restaurant at the hotel. I really, really enjoyed not having to worry about cooking!!
I love this picture of Reagan, Marissa & Morgan. They had been playing together and I got them to pose for this picture!

I didn't get any good pictures of Morgan at the waterpark because when I had my camera out she was nowhere in sight. She ran into one of her friends from school on Thursday, so Morgan had fun hanging out with her. This is a picture of Morgan eating a chocolate covered strawberry. She made quite a mess and it was causing Mark some stress, but Morgan enjoyed it! The kids really enjoyed the offerings for Thanksgiving. I've personally never served chicken nuggets for Thanksgiving dinner, but the younger girls really enjoyed having those available. Marissa enjoyed steak instead of turkey. Mark, Rob and I were the only ones that ate the traditional turkey. Rob thought the others should be eating turkey, too, but Mark and I thought it was fine to just let them eat whatever they chose to eat!! The fresh fruit was also a big hit with our family. They even had fresh raspberries and blackberries.
Reagan isn't always real brave about doing "scary" rides. However, she did eventually try all of the slides. Here, Mark & Reagan are exiting the yellow slide which was Reagan's favorite. You were supposed to be 48" tall to ride this slide, but they weren't enforcing the height limit so Reagan even got to go down this slide.
I got a picture of Mark reading his book here. I did quite a bit of reading, too, but there are no pictures of me since I was the only photographer.
Rob is swimming around in the lazy river.
We spent Thursday night and Friday night at a different motel. The girls had fun swimming in the indoor pool and I did lots of shopping!! I didn't get all the way done, but I am very close. The boys spent alot of time at Cabela's. Rob loves that store as much as Mark. We had an extremely productive weekend and it was also a lot of fun!! Definitely, a Thanksgiving that we'll always remember!!
