Custer State Park

Our campground was only about a mile from the entrance to Custer State Park.  Our neighbor at the campground told me that they had been to Custer State Park the day before and had driven the whole wildlife loop (which we were planning on doing).  He said they saw all the Buffalo at the beginning (before the loop) and he would recommend skipping the wildlife loop.  His advice proved to be very beneficial!
A whole bunch of buffalo on the side of the road

Driving along here was very slow going because there were so many buffalo walking down the street! Ha, ha!!
Michael, Maddie & Reagan playing with a turtle outside the visitor center at Custer State Park.  This was the day that we all (except Rob) wore our matching shirts.  Rob refused to wear a matching shirt and I could understand so I didn't even order him one.  The shirts listed many of the fun places that we had been over the summer.  Kim had them made for all of us!

Some gorgeous scenery at Custer State Park

We stopped here to admire the scenery and there were 2 bikers at the stop as well.  They offered to let the kids sit on their bikes for pictures.  Fun, fun, fun!!  (We were at Mount Rushmore the week before Sturgis so there were all ready lots of bikers in town!)

The kids had fun climbing the rocks here and a bunch of them hiked quite a ways back.  They said it was beautiful, but unfortunately I wasn't there with my camera to take pictures!

Crawford, scaling, down the rocks after their hike through the rocks.  Rob went first and was then telling Crawford what to do!
