Koolaid Time!

We left Kearney and headed to Minden, Nebraska to go to Pioneer Village.  When we got there it was 8 am and Pioneer Village didn't open until 9.  I remember going there on a family vactaion 30 years ago and that it was great!  However, from the outside it looked like it hadn't been updated for 30 years.  None of us were too impressed and none of us had a problem with just moving on to our next stop which happened to be about a half hour away in Hastings, Nebraska.
Hastings, Nebraska is where Kool-aid was invented.  I bet you didn't know that!!  We didn't know it either until a few weeks ago.  Here is a picture Rob and Michael in front of the storefront depicting that Hastings is the Birthplace of Kool-aid.

The Kool-Aid Man's foot prints from Hollywood!

Rob & Michael pretending they are drinking Kool-Aid while by the footprints.  Love this picture!

Banner on the front of the Museum.  The museum was actually large and great!

A bunch of taxidermied animals on display!

Maddie with some replicas of the Kool-Aid Man.  One of the kids' favorite things at the museum was watching the old Kool-Aid commercials.

Rob poses for me - without a smile of course.

At the end of the museum, the kids got some Pucker Powder for the road!
