When we returned from Colorado, Maddie ran downstairs to check on her hamster, R.A. He was fine. However, when it was time for bed, Maddie realized that she had accidentally left the door open and R.A. had escaped. Maddie was very upset and she didn't even tell me he was missing until the next morning. On Monday, the kids and I were leaving for Mount Rushmore and Mark was leaving for Atlanta so Maddie knew that if we didn't find him before we left, he probably wouldn't survive. She looked for him both Saturday night and Sunday morning without success. However, late that day Mark, Rob, Maddie, Reagan & Kate went on a hunt for him. Rob ended up finding him in the corner inside the hide-a-bed. We were all so grateful he was found. Marissa had requested that Maddie would write a letter to an investigator so Maddie wrote about this instance showing that prayers can be answered.
