Maddie saw a brochure for this Ghost Town Museum in Colorado Springs and she really wanted to go. It worked out perfectly because there was a park nearby that we could leave Mark at. We dropped off Mark and the wet backpacks, tents, etc., so he could work on drying them out while we went to the museum.
Maddie, Reagan & Morgan posed with a decorated elk outside of the museum. I loved this. It reminded me of some of our summer day trip excursions.
Reagan is kind enough to pose for me.
Reagan and Morgan having a good time.
I loved this idea of the bell ringing when the candy jar was open.
Maddie & Rob decided to try out their sharp shooting skills. It cost 50 cents for 24 shots. Maddie hit targets with most of her shots.
Rob was 100% accurate with his shots!
This museum had displays with items from 100 years or so labeled. The displays are probably especially interesting to younger kids - Maddie & Reagan. After we'd been there an hour or so, Maddie commented to me how amazing the museum was. Shortly after, Rob commented how dumb it was and that it was a waste of money. Comparing their comments made me laugh and felt like they were both really appropriate comments for their ages. However, right after that Rob found the gold panning area. An hour later everyone was ready to go except Rob. Rob found 3 flecks of gold in the gold panning area. He was the only one in our group to find any. It took a lot of patience and preserverance.

All the kids panning for gold!
Reagan having fun with a silly mirror.
Looking in the jail. I just thought this picture turned out cool.
